Surreal artist George Gire calls this piece Infinite Improbability Drive. I chose this piece because it was very interesting and portrays many aspects of surrealism. There are so many things going on in this piece that gives it a very surrealistic look. There is a giant floating structure right off the shore with multiple actions going on at once. The description is a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy; the tunnel in the center can represent the long passageway to it.

This is a piece by a surreal artist in Finland named Sipo Liimatainen. This is a very cool piece. Its hard for me to put together exactly what it is but it drew my attention and definitely falls into the category of surrealism. It kind of looks like a weird, modern version of the solar system. The cool colors really blend the piece together well and make it a very nice piece.

This is a surrealistic piece by Swedish artist Tommy Ingberg.  I chose this piece because it is simple and it relates to the style of art that I have created in the past.  The balloons that replace his head makes the peace surrealistic by giving it a different meaning. It could mean that his head isn't really here, like he is dreaming or out of it.  It could also mean that he is slowly floating away from something.  It's a interesting piece and it's effective because it makes you think.

This is a very weird peace by German artist Martin Grohs. There are lots of abstract and actions going on here. So much that its hard to comprehend what exactly the artist is trying put out. It looks like there are three levels in the piece, the sky the ocean and another layer under the ocean. The figure seems to be confused maybe with what his life will bring him or what path he will chose. Also the random objects in the background could be symbolic to him or his future and past.

This interesting piece is by German artist Dorothea Beer. It’s a fairly simple piece but it works. The piece is over the ocean so she could have possible grew up on the water. On the staircase coming out of the there is a man walking up, but the staircase ends. The center seems to be a statue and the side are transparent mirrors. All the elements in the piece are old fashioned except the airplan on the far right side. The bicycle floating on water is very weird as well.

This year I am in the honors computer graphics class. This week we started off with two assignments. Our first was to read the Manifesto Of Surrealism. The second project was to watch, Un chien Andalou, a surrealistic movie by Louis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí. We also have to fill out a movie spreadsheet. Most of the projects this year are surrealistic and we will start our first one soon after we finish reading about it.
